Mrs. N receives answers and compentation following the death of her husband
One of our medical negligence panel solicitors acted for Mrs. N after her husband, Mr. N was admitted to hospital after collapsing at home. In order to ascertain why Mr. N collapsed, a CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis was requested by the treating Consultant Radiologist.
The radiology request clearly stated that in light of Mr. N's pre-existing renal impairment, the scan should be conducted without contrast iodine dye. However, contrary to these instructions, the contrast iodine dye was administered. Mr. N's renal function began to deteriorate dramatically and his serum creatinine levels rose from 258 to 519 and continued to increase as his renal function deteriorated.
As a result of the incorrect administration of dye and subsequent failing renal function, Mr. N suffered multi-organ failure and died. The Mistreatment.com panel solicitor was able to secure a compensation payment of £15,000.00 for Mrs. N, to provide her with some financial security after her husband's death.
